Who Will Bring Christian Standhardinger Back to the PBA — Magnolia or TNT?

PBA Trade Rumor: Magnolia, TNT Racing to Acquire Christian Standhardinger from Terrafirma

The PBA rumor mill is on fire with talks of a possible comeback for Christian Standhardinger, who earlier stepped away from the league. Now, speculation is rising: if he does unretire, which team will bring him back — Magnolia or TNT?

Magnolia’s Case

With new head coach LA Tenorio at the helm, the Hotshots are reportedly pushing hard to reunite with Standhardinger, who once shared the floor with Tenorio in Brgy Ginebra. Magnolia sees him as the missing piece to reinforce their frontline with Ian Sangalang and to bring muscle against powerhouse squads like San Miguel and Ginebra.

TNT’s Bid

On the other side, TNT Tropang 5G are also rumored to be in the hunt. With their backcourt already stacked behind Jayson Castro, RR Pogoy , Rey Nambatac and free agent Jio Jalalon (spotted in tnt practice) , the team has long needed a dependable big man. Adding Standhardinger would give them a legitimate inside presence to complement JP Erram and Kelly Williams, strengthening their title hopes.

Terrafirma Holds the Key

The twist? Terrafirma Dyip still owns Standhardinger’s rights. That means any comeback would require a trade, and the Dyip are known for leveraging star rights in exchange for draft picks and young talent. With two contenders in the mix, Terrafirma is positioned to maximize its return.

The Bigger Picture

If Standhardinger truly un-retires, his decision could tilt the league’s balance of power. A move to Magnolia would reunite him with Tenorio and give the Hotshots a dominant frontcourt duo. A transfer to TNT, meanwhile, could finally solve the Tropang Giga’s long-standing frontline gap.

The Big Question

For now, it remains speculation. But one thing is certain: if Christian Standhardinger returns, the entire PBA will be watching — and it’s a tug-of-war between Magnolia and TNT to see who can make it happen.
